(Tuesday, September 19; Sioux Center, Iowa) The NAIA announced the 2022-23 academic year Scholar-Teams on NAIA National Awards Day, Friday, September 15. All 19 of Dordt's varsity teams met the 3.0 cumulative grade point average threshold to qualify for the honor.
The Defender women's cross country team had a cumulative 3.91 grade point average and had the second-highest grade point average of all teams and sports to earn the honor. When broken down by sport Dordt had 13 teams rank in the top-10 of their respective sports. Women's indoor track and field, women's outdoor track and field, softball and men's volleyball all recorded the highest grade point average of the teams in those sports.  During the 2022-23 school year the varsity teams at Dordt maintained a 3.52 cumulative grade point average.
