Open Space Park - Football, Track and Field

The Open Space Park Football Field is home to the Defender football and outdoor track and field teams. The grounds are a shared space between Dordt University, Sioux Center Community Schools, and the City of Sioux Center, making it a prime location for events.
A synthetic grass playing surface was installed in 2015 and new bleachers installed in 2009, providing seating for over 3,500 fans.
The space also includes an all-weather rubber track, long-jump and pole vault pits, space for all throwing events, including a javelin throwing lane and a practice field. This site has served as the host for several conference championships and numerous high school meets. The track was resurfaced in 2015.
