The Vos Family Gymnasium

Home to both the Defenders basketball and volleyball teams, the Vos Family Gym is known for its electric gameday atmosphere and its close proximity of fans to the court, giving the Defenders a distinct home court advantage.
The Vos Family Gym holds 2,000 spectators and has hosted both conference and national tournament events along with annual competitive dance and cheer events.
“The Vos” was was originally constructed in 1968, underwent an addition in 1979 (lobby and balcony) and was most recently remodeled in 2005 with new bleachers, scorer's table and scoreboards. The facility, formerly known as the De Witt Gym, underwent a significant renovation in 2026, adding space on the end lines for spectators and an enhanced gameday experience with air conditioning, a new sound system and scoreboards. It features space for two regulation basketball and volleyball courts for practices, locker room spaces, coaches offices, concession area along with a spacious lobby area.
The renovation project is expected to continue with additional locker rooms, office spaces, hospitality areas, and an expanded lobby area.
