Dordt Hockey played Hope College to a tough fought 4-2 loss on Friday night. That marks the Defenders first loss of the season and moves their overall record to 6-1-0.
The Defenders and the Flying Dutch traded blows throughout the first two periods, with Dordt taking a 2-1 lead against the defending champs at one point. Unfortunately. Hope created chances offensively all game, and it was eventually too much for the Defender defense.
It was a physical game, and despite playing with a short bench, and losing two guys to injury our group fought hard. I am proud of their effort to have the defending champs on the ropes for most of the game. It is something that we can build on. - Coach Tyler Morgan
Stat Summary:
Lucas Van Berkel scored both goals for the Defenders. He was assisted by
