The Defender Hockey team got another road win on Saturday night in Omaha, beating the Nebraska-Omaha Mavericks 10-0 in their second meeting of the season. The win moves Dordt to 6-0 on the year.

Tyler Morgan's thoughts on Saturday's game:
It was a great game from start to finish. We were able to get off to a quick start and put a lot of what we have been working on to use. We are continuing to build in the right direction and look forward to our matchup with Hope next weekend.

Picking a statistical leader for the Defenders from Saturdays game would be a tough task. Here's the breakdown on scoring and assists:
Nathan Fanning,
Austin Green, and
Austin Rosenbaum all scored their first career goals on Saturday. All three had one assist.
Fanning and
Green both went on to score hat tricks.
Alex Espenson and
Andrew Benson each had a goal with 4 and 3 assists respectively.
Noah Wilmes had a goal and one assist.
Colin Andre had 3 assists.
Zach Espenson picked up 2 assists.
Tristan Schlechter,
Taylor De Jager, and
Bryce Swalve  each had one assist.
Dordt controlled the game in terms on shots on goal. In total, Dordt tallied 59 to just 13 for Nebraska-Omaha.
Hayden Stevens was in goal for the Defenders and was able to keep the Mavericks from scoring all night.
