Hockey Adds Velez

(Thursday, November 17, 2022; Sioux Center, Iowa) Luke Velez, a senior at Saint Joseph High School (Missouri), has announced his intention to attend Dordt University and join the Defender hockey program.

"We are excited to add Luke to our hockey program for next season. He is a tremendous young man and the thing that stood out to us in the recruiting process was he is eager to be on campus and wants to be challenged to live out the Defender Way," said Dordt hockey coach Tyler Morgan.

Velez has played left wing and right wing during his career and averages a half point a game.

"I chose Dordt because of the community feel the campus had," said Velez.

Luke is the son of Jennifer Engleman and Fernando Velez. He plans to study Finance at Dordt.
