Defender Hockey gets 6th straight Home Win on Saturday Afternoon

Dordt won 4-3 in a close game over the Dallas Baptist Patriots.

Dordt moves 12-2-0 on the season after a Saturday afternoon win against Dallas Baptist University. The third game of the week proved to be a little bit of a nail biter, but the Defenders were able to seal a 4-3 win giving them their 6th straight victory.

How it Happened:
On what would be a slower offensive day as of late, the Defenders got out to a one goal lead in each of the first two periods, but the Patriots were able to respond to each of those in a timely manner.

Dordt was eventually able to score back to back goals in the third period to go up 4-2. Dallas Baptist was able to get it back to 4-3, and had a few opportunities to tie it up, but the Defender Defense was able to hold off the attacks and keep the lead.

Stat Summary:
The Defender offense came from 6 players each tallying 1 point.
Alex Espenson, Austin Green, Mason Carrels, and Lucas Van Berkel each scored a goal.
Bryce Swalve and Noah Wilmes had the 2 Dordt assists for the afternoon.
The Patriots outshot the Defenders 41 to 39.
Hayden Stevens made 38 saves at goalie.

Looking ahead:
December 2nd and 3rd, the Defenders will host the University of Nebraska for a two-game set at Vernon Arena. The Friday night game will start at 7pm (CST) and the Saturday game will start at 1pm (CST). Both of those games will be live on the Dordt Media Network.
