(Friday, November 24; Sioux Center, Iowa) Hunter Bailey, a senior at Baker High School (Montana), has announced his intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender track and cross country programs.
Bailey has personal bests of 12.04 in the 100 meters; 25.27 in the 200 meters; 52.52 in the 400 meters; 1:59 in the 800 meters; 5:02 in the 1600 meters; and 16:58 in the 5000 meters. Bailey earned 22nd and 28th place in the state cross country meet during his career and was a three-time state qualifier in the 400 and 800 meters. He also competed in football and was an all-state pick in 2021 and 2022.
"God is at the forefront of everything I am, so I wanted to make sure my education was Christ-centered. Not only does Dordt University have a top academic program, an amazing running program that I feel blessed that I can be a part of, but the moment I was visiting on campus with the other students and future teammates I felt like I was home," said Bailey.
Hunter is the son of Travis and Tania Bailey of Baker, Montana. He plans to study health and human performance.
Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition.
