Dordt defeats Nebraska 6-1
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Dordt Defender hockey team secured its second win of the season on Saturday afternoon in Lincoln, Nebraska with a 6- 1 victory one day after winning in overtime.
Dordt's scoring started with
Brady Espenson getting a goal off an assist by
Griffin Lennes with less than a minute gone. Lennes added a goal of his own seven minutes later on an assist by Connor Rache and
Noah Wilmes had a goal with an assist by
Zach Espenson 14:30 into the first period for a 3-0 lead.
Lucas Van Berkel's goal with 6:58 left in the second period added to the Dordt scoring and Lennes added his second of the game on an assist by Carrels to make it 5-1 after a Nebraska goal.
Isaac Baart's goal with 6:07 gone in the final period made the final 6-1.
THE NUMBERS
- Graeme Edmund faced 29 shots and made 28 saves.
- Dordt put 46 shots on frame.
- Dordt is now 8-3 this season and has won five in a row.
