(Tuesday, November 21, 2023; Sioux Center, Iowa) Kadence Driesen, a senior at Unity Christian High School (Iowa), has announced her intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender cross country program.
"I am excited to welcome Kadence to our program. She was part of a strong Unity Christian team this past year. She is an excellent fit for our campus and I look forward to her impact on our team and across the entire campus community," said Dordt cross country coach Nate Wolf.
Driesen was a part of a team that qualified for the Iowa High School State Cross Country Championship and has a personal best of 23:03 on a 5,000 cross country course.
"I chose Dordt because on my several visits to campus everyone was welcoming. It is evident all the professors care for each of their students and want to encourage them in their faith journey. I am looking forward be being a part of the community at Dordt along with being able to grow in my faith," said Driesen
Kadence is the daughter of Jeremy and Melissa Driesen of Sioux Center, Iowa. She plans to study social work and Spanish at Dordt.
Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA).
U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
