(Wednesday, April 5; Sioux Center, Iowa) Rachel Brown, a senior at Grand View Christian School (Iowa), has announced her intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender dance team.
"I am very excited that Rachel has decided to attend Dordt next year and be a part of our dance team. She is a very sweet girl with a great smile and a lot of potential. I loved getting to know her as well as see her dance at our prep clinic earlier this fall, and I know that she will be a wonderful fit for our team next year," said Dordt dance coach Mel Knobloch.
Brown has been a part of the Grace Ballet and Des Moines Danz Arts for nine years and has experience in ballet, tap, contemporary, pointe and folk dancing. She's also competed with Grand View Christian High School one year and was selected MVP of the cheer team.
"I chose Dordt because I wanted to attend a college that emphasized following Christ in every area of life. Another reason I chose Dordt was because of the great interactions I experience with faculty, staff and students," said Brown.
Rachel is the daughter of Barry and Aina Brown of Johnston, Iowa. She plans to study education at Dordt.
