The Dordt hockey team dropped their first match of the season by a score of 3-2 in overtime.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Defenders played the Huskers in a very close match that saw the first period end scoreless but Nebraska led Dordt in shots on goal, 10-8.
Dordt opened the scoring with 15 minutes left in the second period.
Isaac Baart put the goal in off of assists from
Connor Raiche and
Mason Spejcher.
Dordt added to their lead with four minutes left in the second period.
Andrew Benson scored a slapshot goal off a pass from
Alex Espenson. Dordt would enter the third period with a 2-0 lead.
Nebraska cut the lead in half with a power play goal with just under 11 minutes left in the game. The Huskers tied it up late in the third period to send the game into overtime.
Nebraska completed the comeback in overtime on a power play, handing Dordt their first loss of the season.

Dordt's record is now 10-1-1 on the season and will play Nebraska in the rubber match on Saturday, November 16. Puck drop is scheduled 3:30 pm.
