The Defender hockey team defeated the Nebraska Cornhuskers 4-3 in a shootout in Lincoln, Nebraska on Saturday afternoon.

Dordt saw their first goal from Mason Carrels who was assisted by Rylan Veenstra and Lucas Van Berkel.

Dordt scored another after Zach Espenson scored his sixth goal of the season, assisted by Mason Carrels and Ryan Veenstra on a power play.

Dordt's third goal came from Mason Spejcher, assisted by Alex Espenson and Andrew Benson. 

The game would head overtime but neither team was able to score the game winner.

The game would end up in a shootout and Mason Carrels and Zach Espenson would score to secure Dordt's 11th win of the season.

Isaiah Van Noord came away with 39 saves.
