(Monday, November 18; Sioux Center, Iowa) Addison Liston, a senior at Unity Christian (Iowa), has announced her intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender cross country and track programs.
"I am excited to welcome Addison to our program. She is an outstanding fit for Dordt University and our program. She is a talented runner and excellent student whose faith is important to her. I look forward to working with her the next four years, as well as her impact in our program and across the greater Dordt University community," said Dordt cross country coach and assistant track coach Nate Wolf.
Liston has personal bests of 1:03 in the 400 meters; 2:19 in the 800 meters; 4:53 in the 1,500 meters and 18:29 in the 5,000 meters. Liston ran fourth in this year's Class 2A State Meet with a time of 18:45 while helping Unity to a team runner-up finish in the title race.
"I love Dordt and all the people there. Whenever I am on campus I feel comfortable and at home. I didn't feel that way at any other college," said Liston.
Addison is the daughter of Angie and Jake Liston of Ireton, Iowa. She plans to enter the pre-med program.
Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA).
U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
