(Monday, November 18; Sioux Center, Iowa) Tyler Rozenboom, a senior at Unity Christian High School (Iowa), has announced his intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender track and cross country programs.
"I am excited to welcome Tyler to our program. He is a talented runner who has experienced individual and team success as a member of Unity Christian's strong distance program. These experiences will help him transition to college running and allow him to impact our program in a variety of ways. He is an outstanding fit for Dordt University, and I look forward to working with him for the next four years," said Dordt cross country head coach and assistant track coach Nate Wolf.
Rozenboom has personal bests of 4:46 in the 1,600; 10:16 in the 3,200 and 16:18 in the 5,000. Rozenboom ran for the 2024 and 2023 Unity teams that placed third at the Class 2A State Championship.
"I have grown up in the area and my mom works at Dordt so I know it fairly well. The engineering program is top-notch, which is what I am planning to major in. The running program is also top-notch. I know some of the runners on the team and they say it is amazing from a competition and team aspect," said Rozenboom.
Tyler is the son of Kevin and Jody Rozenboom. He plans to study civil engineering.
