The Dordt University hockey team lost to the University of Arkansas to a 3-2 decision in overtime on Friday afternoon.Â

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Defenders knew it would be a difficult game coming in against the No. 10 Arkansas Razorbacks.Â
Arkansas broke the tie with 9:00 left in the first period but the Defenders would answer back with 5:17 left in the first period on goal scored by Griffin Lennes to tie up at one goal apiece. The first period would end 1-1.
Arkansas scored quickly in the second period to go up by one with 17:14 left in the period. The Razorbacks would go into the second intermission with a 2-1 lead over the Defenders.
Dordt's Noah Wilmes would score the game tying goal with 3:29 left in the game off of passes from Alex Espenson and Lucas Van Berkel to send the game into overtime.
Arkansas would score the game winner in overtime and win the game 3-2.Â
Graeme Edmund had 61 saves on the night.
