Swim Commit | Lucille Borofka

(Monday, March 11; Sioux Center, Iowa) Lucille Borofka, a senior at White Bear Lake High School (Minnesota), has announced her intention to attend Dordt University and join the Defender swim program.  

"Lucy is such a strong all-around swimmer! She is going to bring a great positive energy and she will be a powerhouse for the Defender swim team," said Dordt swim coach Mason Youngblood.  

Borofka has competed in the 50 and 100 meter freestyle and the 100 backstroke. Her personal bests are 24.67 in the 50 free; 54.88 in the 100 free and 1:02.25 in the 100 backstroke. She was a three-time mvp for her high school team and was a four-time all-conference honoree. Borofka was also a section finalist during her career and has competed for the North Suburban Aquatic Club. 

"I loved the welcoming , friendly community of students and staff that shared the same Christian values as me. I was impressed with Dordt's music program and am so excited they are offering a swim team this year," said Borofka.  

Lucille is the daughter of Laura and Jim Borofka of Vadnais Heights, Minnesota. She plans to study music education at Dordt.  

Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA).    

U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
