(Saturday, March 2; Sioux Center, Iowa) Madelyn Eidsness, a senior at Yankton High School (South Dakota), has announced her intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender dance team.
"I am so excited that Madelyn has decided to attend Dordt next year. Madelyn has a very strong background in both studio dance and high school dance and I am thrilled to see her use her talents on our team next year. Madelyn is a strong technical dancer with a sweet and loving personality. I am excited to see the impact she will have on her teammates and our program next year," said Dordt dance coach Mel Knobloch.
Eidsness has competed for the Yankton High School along with the Academy of Dance.
"I chose Dordt University for its quality education as well as the opportunity to create meaningful friendships while continuing to grow and develop my faith. I look forward to performing and competing on the dance team as well," said Eidsness.
Madelyn is the daughter of Will and Hilary Eidsness of Yankton, South Dakota. She plans to study nursing at Dordt.
Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA).
U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
