Hope Tebben (Lansing, Mich.) has signed a letter of intent to attend Dordt University and join the Defender women's cross country and track and field programs.
Tebben has competed for the Lansing Christian School track and field and cross country teams the last four years. Tebben earned all-conference honors and finished 51st at the state meet while being a scoring member of the Division 4 State Champion cross country team. Tebben has personal bests of 6:23 in the 1600m, 13:52 in the 3200m and 21:03 in the 5K. She also received all-region first team accolades as a freshman.
"I am excited to welcome Hope to our program," said Dordt University Head Cross Coach Nate Wolf. "Hope is a wonderful fit for the Dordt community and is a welcome addition to our distance squad. I look forward to working with her the next four years."
Tebben plans to major in Accounting at Dordt and is the daughter of Dave and Marlene.
"I chose to attend Dordt University because of its Christ-centered community," said Tebben. "It is clear that the professors and coaches love what they do and care about their students and athletes. I am so excited to be part of the team / program in the fall."
Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA).
U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
