The Dordt hockey team won a 5-4 overtime game in comeback fashion.Â
HOW IT HAPPENED
Dordt fell behind early as the Blue Jays scored the first two goals of the game and would lead at the first intermission, 2-0. Dordt got one back in the second to cut the lead in half as
Isaac Baart scored his third goal of the season, assisted by
Mason Carrels and
Tristan Schlechter.
Dordt didn't keep it close for long as Creighton scored two more goals to go up 4-1. Once again, Dordt attempted a comeback by scored two unanswered in the second scored by
Noah Wilmes, assisted by
Griffin Lennes, and
Mason Carrels, assisted by
Alex Espenson. Despite those goals Dordt would enter the second intermission facing a 4-3 deficit.
Dordt tied it up in the third period on another
Mason Carrels goal, this one assisted by
Isaac Baart, and would force an overtime period.
Griffin Lennes secured the win with an overtime goal, assisted by
Zach Espenson.
Dordt is now 3-0-0 on the season and has scored at least four goals in all of its games. Dordt will travel to St. Louis, Missouri to face Maryville on Thursday, October 3.Â
