The Dordt Defenders scored four unanswered goals and won a 4-1 decision over Illinois State on Saturday afternoon in Sioux Center, Iowa.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Defenders surrendered a goal with just under seven minutes remaining in the first period, and the 1-0 lead held until Connor Perakslis scored with :16 left in the period on assists by Reuben Horneman and Andrew Benson.

Dordt took the lead on Rylan Veenstra's goal just over a minute into the second period, and Horneman scored off an assist by Perakslis with 7:07 left in the second period. Isaac Baart added an insurance goal in the third period, and Dordt kept Illinois State off the board for the final 53 minutes of the game.
