The Dordt Defender men's golf team is tied for fifth after day one of the Mustang Derby at Whispering Creek in Sioux City, Iowa on Monday, October 6 Dordt shot a 312 and is tied with a team from Morningside and Northeast CC with 18 holes to play on Tuesday.

Caleb Douma shot a three-over 75 to lead the Defenders with two birdies and was one over on the back nine of the event.
Joseph Wolfe also had two birdies with a 77. Douma is tied for 10
th and Wolfe is in 19
th with five other golfers.
William Welsh (Iowa Western) shot a 71 and is one stroke in front of Frederick Walker (Mount Mercy) and Ryan Cavanaugh (Morningside). Morningside has a team that shot a four over 292 and Iowa Western is in second place after shooting a 300. Dordt trails Des Moines Area CC in fourth with a 304.
