Braun, Wolf Take Home Top Awards; 10 Defenders Earn All-Conference Honor

10 members of the the Dordt University women's cross country team earned all-conference honors from the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) for their performance at the conference championship last weekend at Mahoney State Park near Ashland, Neb. Headlining the long list of postseason honor recipients are Corinne Braun, who was named GPAC Runner of the Year, and Head Coach Nate Wolf, who received the Coach of the Year honor.

Braun won the conference championship for the second consecutive year, becoming the second Dordt runner to win multiple GPAC cross country titles (Jessica Kampman - 2022, 2023). The sophomore finished the 6K course with a personal-best time of 21:21, 19 seconds ahead of her teammate, Joy Koole. This was the second win of the 2025 season for Braun and the sixth win of her career.

Wolf led the 7th-ranked Defenders to their sixth straight and 12th overall conference championship last weekend (nine under Coach Wolf), totaling a near-perfect score of 17 points and well ahead of second place Morningside (76pts). Dordt has been ranked in the top 10 all season and has not lost to an NAIA team in six meets. This is the sixth consecutive season Wolf has earned the GPAC's top coaching honor and ninth year overall. 

All 10 Defender runners earned the postseason honor by placing in the top 15 at the GPAC Championship; this is the first time Dordt had all 10 of its runners finish this high (previous best - 9, accomplished in 2024 and 2014.

Joy Koole finished second at the conference championship, crossing the finish line in 21:40. Koole has finished among the top 10 in every meet this season and has one win (Sunflower Open). The freshman was named the GPAC Runner of the Week two times this season. 

Addy Liston placed third with a time of 21:45, her third top 10 finish of the season. This was her second best finish of the season (2nd at Sunflower Open).

Addy Crow finished fifth at the GPAC Championship, the highest finish of her career, and earned the all-conference honor for the first time. The sophomore crossed the finish line with a time of 21:54. 

Hannah Thong placed sixth at the 2025 championship with a time of 22:02 and earns the postseason honor for the second time. Thong, who placed fifth at last year's championship, has one top 10 finish and three top 25 showings this season. 

Isabella Webb earns all-conference honors for the third consecutive year. Webb, who was the GPAC runner-up in 2024, placed eighth this season with a time 22:22. This was Webb's first top 10 finish of the season and sixth for her career. She also placed 10th at the 2023 GPAC Championship.

Jaci Burtis placed ninth at the championship last weekend, completing the 6K course in 22:28. Burtis, who recorded her second top 10 finish of the season, earns the postseason honor for the second time (4th in 2024). 

Jenna Hursh finished 10th overall, giving the Defenders eight among the top 10 runners. Hursh completed the 6K course in 22:29 and earns the postseason honor for the first time. This was her fourth top 10 finish of the season.

Competing in her third conference championship, Courtney Joiner finished 13th last weekend and earned the all-conference honor for the second time. Joiner posted a time of 22:42 and her third top 25 finish of the season. The senior placed 10th at the 2024 championship.

Jessica Opfer finished 14th at last weekend's championship and took home all-conference honors for the third straight year. Opfer crossed the finish line in 22:48 and recorded her third top 25 finish of the season. Opfer, who was competing in her fourth conference championship, placed 13th last year, sixth in 2023 and 33rd in the 2022.

Dordt, ranked seventh in the final NAIA Coaches' poll, will compete in the NAIA National Championship next week in Tallahassee, Fla.
