The Dordt hockey team won an 8-2 decision against the Arkansas Razorbacks in the Vernon Arena on Friday night. Dordt is now 19-4-1 overall and have won four straight.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Defenders opened the scoring with a power play goal just four minutes into the game. After Zack Kilgore was given two minutes in the penalty box for tripping, the Defenders capitalized on the man-up advantage just 13 seconds later. Three minutes later,

Rylan Veenstra and
Reuben Horneman. Arkansas cut the lead in half with 2:48 left in the first period after Thomas Verble scored, assisted by Zack Kilgore and Zachary Davis. Dordt took a 2-1 lead into the first intermission.
The Razorbacks tied it up early in the second period on an Aidan Morrow goal. Dordt took back the lead 36 seconds later on
Luke Kesters first goal of the night. That would prove to be the game winner as the Defenders would score six unanswered.
Levi Loken netted a brace three minutes later on a power play and
Christopher Janssen scored on a scrum just in front of the crease. Dordt lead 5-2 heading to the second intermission.
Connor Raiche scored the first of three goals in the third period, assisted by
Rylan Veenstra and
Andrew Benson.
Rylan Veenstra scored the seventh of the game for the Defenders, assisted by
Mason Carrels.
Luke Kester scored his second goal of the game to secure the fourth straight win for Dordt.
