The Dordt Defender Cheer & Dance teams will compete in a pair of competitions this weekend in their season openers. Dordt goes to York on Friday for a classic and the Defenders take part in a day of duals at Seward, Nebraska on Saturday, February 8.  The dance and cheer meet at York begins at 3:00 on Friday and Dordt's first dual on Saturday is at 10:00am.

In 2024 the dance team won a triangular competition with Missouri Baptist and York at this competition and William Penn beat the Defenders in the other dual.

Last year's dance team finished fifth at the GPAC Championship.

The 2024 cheer team finished fifth at the York Crown Classic and won both of its competitions at the Concordia event with a triangular win over Mount Mercy and William Woods and a dual win over Benedictine.

The Dordt team finished the 2024 season at the GPAC Championship and finished fourth.
