Box Score 2 The Dordt Defender baseball team was swept by Southeastern (Florida) on Tuesday, March 4 to start its Spring Break trip. The undefeated Fire won by scores of 27-6 and 9-6 on its home field in Lakeland.
Dordt is 5-9 and is scheduled to face Valley City State and Cornerstone on Wednesday, March 5.

Dordt was down 7-0 in game one before
Logan Harris singled in a run and
Logan Templeton had a three-run homerun to cut the lead to 7-4 going into the bottom of the third inning. Southeastern's response was swift as it scored five in the third and things got away from Dordt in the fourth as the Fire scored 12.

Drew Oreskes homerun in the sixth and a Jimmy Twombley double plated a run to complete Dordt's scoring.

GAME 2
The Defenders bounced back from a loss in game one of their doubleheader with Southeastern and battled the Fire to a 9-6 loss in game two.Â
Southeastern had a 3-0 lead after a run in the first and two in the second with Josephy Schlesselman hitting a solo homerun. Southeastern scored two more in the third and fourth to lead 7-1. Dordt got two back in the fifth inning with a pair of unearned runs and
Carson Belcher singled in
Gabriel McFarland and
Matthew McMillian. Schlesselman eventually scored on a wild pitch to cut the difference to 8-6 but the hosts got a run in the sixth and held Dordt scoreless to finish the game with a 9-6 victory.
