(Monday, July 28; Sioux Center, Iowa) The Dordt University women's and men's volleyball programs earned 2024/2025 AVCA Team Academic Award recognition for the last school year.

To qualify, programs must have at least a 3.3 year-long grade point average of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale. Additionally, the Defender women were recognized on the Honor Roll of the award as one of the top 20% of the team GPAs in the NAIA. The Dordt men were one of six NAIA teams recognized for the award.

Both programs have also been nominated for NAIA Scholar-Team status after recording 3.7 (women) and 3.34 (men) grade point averages in the 2024-25 school year. The women's program is coached by Jacki Smith and the Dordt men are coached by Chad Hanson.
