The Dordt Defenders used a 74-6 shots advantage to defeat Wisconsin–Platteville, 6-0, on Friday night, September 12, in their home opener.
Dordt opened the scoring when Colton Dureno found the net with 6:52 left in the first period, and Mason Spejcher made it 2-0 less than a minute later.
The Defenders extended their lead in the second period as Tegan Doelman scored off an assist from Dureno with 15:34 remaining, and Mason Carrels added another with 5:27 left, assisted by Andrew Benson.
Dureno and Spejcher each tallied again early in the third period to cap the scoring.
Tim Nanson got the shutout in goal for Dordt in front of a full Vernon Arena.
