The Dordt Defender hockey team lost a 3-1 decision to Nebraska-Omaha on Saturday night, January 17 at Baxter Arena in Omaha, Nebraska. The loss makes the Defenders 19-3 with five games remaining in the regular season.
Dordt scored a goal with 9:16 left in second period when
Andrew Benson tied the game off assists by
Levi Loken and
Mason Carrels. The Mavericks took a 2-1 lead five minutes later and then scored with less than :10 remaining in the game.
Tim Nanson was in goal and made 45 saves as Dordt had a 67-46 shots advantage.
Dordt will face Creigton on Friday, January 23 in its next competition. All five of Dordt's games over the next three weekends will be at home.
