Men's Basketball | Defenders Secure Fourth Straight Win

Box Score The Dordt University Defender men's basketball team put together an offensive masterclass on Saturday afternoon, dismantling Waldorf 109-72 in Forest City, Iowa.  Dordt is now 16-12 and finish the GPAC season with a 11-9 record.

The Defenders wasted no time opening the game with an explosive 15-2 run sparked by a Connor Millikan three-pointer and back-to-back   scores from Judson Henkel. Dordt's lead quickly grew as Ty Van Essen and Steven Poulicek added consecutive buckets to fuel a 10-0 string that put the Defenders up 25-6 midway through the first half. By the intermission, Dordt had already racked up 60 points, shooting a blistering 65% from the field to hold a 24-point cushion.

The second half saw more of the same as Dordt utilized a deep rotation to maintain their high-tempo attack. Jake Proctor and Millikan combined for a 12-0 spurt early in the frame, with Proctor converting a traditional three-point play and Millikan following with a steal and a layup. The Defenders' bench put the finishing touches on the victory with a 9-0 run late in the game, featuring a three-pointer from Tom Dobson and back-to-back scores from Dylon Schaap. Dordt finished the afternoon with a massive 54-20 advantage in points in the paint and turned 20 Waldorf turnovers into 25 points, moving to 16-12 on the season with the convincing road win.
