The Defenders wasted no time opening the game with an explosive 15-2 run sparked by a
Connor Millikan three-pointer and back-to-back   scores from
Judson Henkel. Dordt's lead quickly grew as
Ty Van Essen and
Steven Poulicek added consecutive buckets to fuel a 10-0 string that put the Defenders up 25-6 midway through the first half. By the intermission, Dordt had already racked up 60 points, shooting a blistering 65% from the field to hold a 24-point cushion.
The second half saw more of the same as Dordt utilized a deep rotation to maintain their high-tempo attack.
Jake Proctor and Millikan combined for a 12-0 spurt early in the frame, with Proctor converting a traditional three-point play and Millikan following with a steal and a layup.
