The Dordt dance team will be competing in three competitions this weekend while the cheer team competes on two of the days during a busy stretch of the season. The Defenders go to Orange City, Iowa for the Northwestern Dance Invite in a meet on Thursday, February 5, that was added to the schedule recently. Dordt will go to York, Nebraska for the York/Crown Cheer and Dance Classic on Friday, February 6 and cap the busy weekend with a cheer and dance meet at Seward, Nebraska sponsored by Concordia.

THE COMPETITIONS
The Northwestern Invite features Lewis-Clark State, Hope International, Briar Cliff, Northwestern, Morningside and Dordt.
The York Invite will have teams from York, Hastings, Benedictine, Doane, Waldorf, Sterling, Friends, Concordia, MidAmerica Nazarene, Peru State, Northwestern, Graceland, Briar Cliff, Lewis-Clark State, Hastings, Kansas Wesleyan, Hope International and Dordt sending teams to one or both of the cheer and dance competitions.
Concordia will have teams from MidAmerica Nazarene, Mount Marty, Northwestern, Midland, Waldorf, Briar Cliff, the College of Saint Mary and Concordia competing.
HISTORY
Dordt dance competed at the Northwestern Invite on February 14-15 last year and finished fifth while totaling 148.94 points in the two performances.
The Defender dance team was 8
th at York on February 7 last year with 75.53 points and cheer team was 8
th with 68.45 points.
Concordia's event had featured two duals for both dance and cheer but has been modified to an invite format this year.
NEXT
Dordt will compete in a cheer and dance invite hosted by Northwestern on February 13-14 and the GPAC Championship is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, March 6-7 in Orange City, Iowa.
