The Dordt men's golf team competed in a pair of match play events on Monday, March 30 at Green Valley Golf Course hosted by Briar Cliff in Sioux City, Iowa. Dordt played a pair of matches and went 2-0 as a team,
Match 1 Dordt def. Dakota Wesleyan 5-0
David Chacon win up 4 with 2 to play after winning two of the final three holes.
Joseph Wolfe win up 5 with 4 to play and birdied three holes out of the 14 played. The match was even through four holes.
Trey Van Groningen 1 up and won five holes.
Samuel Wolf 1 up and won eight holes with four birdies.
Caleb Douma up 3 with 2 to play and won seven holes with three birdies and 10 pars in the 16 holes played.
Match 2 Dordt def. Morningside 3-2
David Chacon loss down 3 with 2 to play. His match was tied after six holes when Jose Ricardo Martinez birdied three out of four holes to take control of the match.
Joseph Wolfe won playoff hole to break tie when he eagled the 524 yard #6 knocking it in from 135 yards. He also had 7 birdies.
Trey Van Groningen 3 up with 1 to play after taking four holes in a row early in the match.
Samuel Wolfe 2 up with 1 to play and had four birdies and 11 pars.
Caleb Douma loss 2 down with 1 to play in a competitive match with Dylan Welford. The golfers split eight holes and Welford won it with a birdie on the 17th hole.
Dordt will golf against Northwestern on Tuesday, March 31 in match play. Northwestern also was 2-0 in its matches with Mount Marty and Hastings.
