Women's Track & Field | 48 Defenders Named NAIA Scholar Athlete

The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced its 2026 Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete list for the spring season and 48 Defenders earned the academic honor in women's track and field.  The national office announced the complete list of Scholar Athletes for the spring season and Dordt had 125 honorees bringing it's 2025-26 total to 300.

The Defenders accounted for the most honorees in women's track and field, 11 more than the next closest institution (Doane - 37). Nine institutions from the NAIA totaled 20 or more Scholar Athletes for women's track and field.

In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, must appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport and have attended one full year at said institution.
