The Event... Dordt University is the host site of the 2023 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Outdoor Men's Track and Field Championships this weekend at Open Space Park. The championships get underway on Friday, May 5 with the first event of the decathlon (100m) at 12:30pm.
Day one continues with four more events of the decathlon, four field events, prelims for both 100m and 1110m hurdles and finals for the 4x800 relay and 10,000m run. Day two on Saturday, May 6 sees the continuance of the decathlon at 9am (110m hurdles), field events beginning at noon and events on the track commencing at 12:45pm.

All 11 GPAC schools are scheduled to compete.Â
There are a total of 22 events (10 individual running events, 9 field events and 3 relays) scored at the outdoor championship, with the top eight places scoring points for their team (10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1). The team with the most points after all of the events have finished wins the GPAC Championship.
The top eight finishers in each individual event and top three teams in each relay earn all-conference honors.
