EXPERIENCE
Jon Crane was named the Dordt head women’s and men’s golf coach for the 2020-21 school year after a career in golf as a course director and golf professional. He is entering his sixth season leading both programs.
- 35 men's golfers have claimed NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors during Crane's tenure
- Coached an individual GPAC Champion in 2023 (Freddy Bullock)
- 17 women's golfers have earned NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors since 2020-21
Prior to his time at Dordt Crane served as Director of Golf Operations at The Club at Porto Cima from 2005-18 and was the Head Professional and Managing Director at the same course from 2000-05. The Club at Porto Cima is a Jack Nicklaus Signature Course located on the Lake of the Ozarks.
Before Porto Cima, Crane worked at the Old Waverly Golf Club in West Point, Mississippi from 1996-2000 as Assistant Professional, Merchandise Manager and Head Professional at different times during his time there.
Upon his graduation from Mississippi State University he worked as a golf staff assistant at Long Cove Club at Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. Crane is a member of the PGA President’s Council and is a PGA Magazine Ambassador.
Crane attended Central Missouri State where he earned a varsity letter with the golf team.
