RECENTLY
Northwestern's last game as on October 1 when it hosted Mount Marty and won a 52-8 decision. Northwestern was up 17-6 after one quarter and blew the game open with 21 points in the second quarter. Northwestern outgained Mount Marty 501-193 and had 251 yards passing and 250 yards rushing while limiting Mount Marty to 32 yards on the ground. Gramstad passed for 238 yards on 18-26 success with three touchdowns and one interception.
Konner McQuillan ran for 107 yards on 14 carries and Gramstad ran for 105 yards on seven carries. Michael Storey caught nine passes for 139 yards and two touchdowns while Tanner Schouten had three catches for 58 yards and one score. Parker Fryar and Jacob Dragstra each had 1.5 sacks with Fryar getting six solo and three assisted tackles.
Dordt overcame a 9-0 deficit against Mount Marty to start the game and outscored the Lancers 28-7 in the second quarter on the way to a 44-29 win in Yankton on Friday night, October 7. Dordt was outgained 409-353 and ran for 252 yards while limiting Mount Marty to 172 yards on the ground. Dordt forced three turnovers and had nine sacks.
Brendan Pieper had six carries for 78 yards and one touchdown and
Connor Dodd had seven carries for 55 yards and
Kade McDaniel had eight carries for 38 yards.
Ethan Thomas caught five passes for 46 yards and
Aidan Platon caught two passes for 51 yards.
Colton Vander Berg led the Dordt defense with 4.5 sacks and seven solo tackles and
Abraham Stoesz had 10 solo tackles and 3.5 tackles for loss.
THE SERIES
The Defenders lost a 63-28 decision to Northwestern last season in Orange City as Northwestern took a 28-13 lead at halftime. Dordt ran for 234 yards and passed for 175 in the loss while Northwestern passed for 311 and ran for 217.
Anthony Trojahn ran for 70 yards on 10 carries and
Nick Wellen ran for 62 yards on seven carries.
Tyler Reynolds was 15-25 passing for 175 yards and ran for 35 yards. Konner McQuillan ran for 130 yards and two scores and Tyson Kooima ran for 44 yards Blake Anderson caught five passes for 94 yards and Cade Moser had three catches for 66 yards.
Levi Jungling led Dordt with seven catches for 91 yards and
Eli Boldan had four catches for 42 yards.
