• The 2021-22 team finished the season in the North Star Athletic Association Tournament with a loss to Dakota State by a 74-68 decision.

Valley City State

• Ryan Montgomery is in his seventh season as head coach for the Vikings and his teams have been 37-18 the last two years and he is 85-88 through six seasons.
• Valley City concluded the 2021-22 season in the semifinal round of the North Star Athletic Association 72-66.

THE SERIES

Dordt is 2-1 in the series with Mayville State since 2018. Last year's contest was an 83-58 Dordt win after Dordt led 51-40 at halftime. Camden Bialas and Jacob Vis each had 13 points with Vis taking in nine rebounds and Caleb Harmsen added 12 on 4-4 three-point shooting on October 29, 2021.  Mayville State was topped by Sebastian Griffin with 13 points. Dordt had a 31-24 rebounding advantage and converted 56 percent of its field goals while limiting Mayville State to 40 percent.

Dordt is 3-1 against Valley City State since 2017 with Dordt prevailing 104-74 on October 30, 2021. Bryce Coppock was 11-15 from the field and scored 30 and Jacob Vis had 19 points and 12 rebounds. Cade Bleeker scored 16 points on seven field goals. Dordt had a 40-17 rebounding advantage and converted 61 percent of its field goals. Duoth Gach had a team high 17 points for the Vikings and Jalen Addison had 16.
