THE SERIES

The Defenders won the 2021 meeting on November 2 by a final score of 80-73.  Ashtyn Veerbeek scored 24 and Janie Schoonhoven added 14 points and seven rebounds in a reserve role. Karly Gustafson added 12 points and 12 rebounds with Bailey Beckman scoring eight and Hayden Heimensen chipped in with seven.  Dakota State got 16 points out of Jessi Giles and Courtney Menning contributed 13.  Dordt won in spite of a 2-14 three-point shooting night while Dakota State converted 7-23 three-point shots but only got to the free throw line nine ties and was outrebounded 48-32.

RECENTLY

Dordt opened the 2022-23 campaign with a 107-48 win over Presentation and were never really challenged. Dordt led 30-10 after one quarter, 60-27 at the half and outscored the Saint 47-23 in the second half. Bailey Beckman scored 19 points on 7-11 field goal shooting and Hayden Heimensen scored 13 while Janie Schoonhoven added 12 points and seven rebounds. Karly Gustafson had 11 points and five assists. Macy Sievers and Eliana Kuperus each had nine points and Sievers handed out six assists. Dordt had a 47-20 rebounding advantage and converted 43-70 field goals for 61.4 percent success while limiting Presentation to 18-53 field goal shooting for 34 percent.
