WHEN

Dordt will face Viterbo on Friday, November 11 at 3:00 and will play IU-East on Saturday at 1:00.  Both games will be played in Orange City, Iowa at the Northwestern College campus.

RECENTLY

The Defenders went 2-0 this weekend in a trip to North Dakota while securing a 95-76 win over Mayville State and a 105-87 win over Valley City State. Jackson Louscher came off the bench to score 25 and Jacob Vis ad 21 points and 15 rebounds against Mayville State.  The Defenders followed that with a 105-87 win over Valley City State as Bryce Coppock scored 19 to go with his 18 point night on Friday and Cade Bleeker scored 18 and Jacob Vis 17.

Viterbo was a 67-64 winner over Edgewood College on Wednesday night after trailing 33-30 at halftime. Dakota Mannel scored 21 and was 10-12 from the free throw line and Jack Monis added 12 points. Robert Cunitz was good for eight points and seven rebounds.

IU East was an 84-72 winner over Goshen on November 8 after leading 35-34 at halftime. Jamisen Smith scored 22 and was 10-16 from the field while Jake Johnson had 18 points and Bryce Long came off the bench for 19 points with six rebounds. IU East converted 49.2 percent of their field goals and had a 37-33 rebounds edge.

NOTES 

Viterbo
  • Viterbo was picked third in the North Star Athletic Association Pre-season poll behind  Bellevue and Mayville State.
  • Wayne Wagner is the head coach at Viterbo and is in his 24th season with the V-Hawks.  He has a career 326-375 record entering the 2022-23 season.
  • This year's 3-0 start matched last year's 3-0 start.
  • Both Jack Monis (1097) and Robert Cunitz (1069) are 1,000 point scorers.
IU East
  • The 2021-22 IU East Team was 16-15.
  • Jamisen Smith averaged 10.3 points per game last season and Bryce Long averaged 7.4 points per outing.
  • Mark Hester is in his 16th season and he is 303-160 entering the year.
Dordt

THE SERIES

Dordt leads the series 4-0 against Viterbo since 2018.  The most recent contest was the most lopsided of the four with Dordt winning 100-51 as Cade Bleeker scored 25 and Jacob Vis and Jackson Louscher had 16 and 11 each and all three had seven or eight rebounds. Noah Fredrickson led Viterbo with 18 points and Brady Polk scored nine.
