RECENTLY

The Midland Warriors lost to Northwestern on November 5 in Orange City, Iowa, 42-10. Northwestern outgained Midland 459-274 and allowed 231 rushing yards and 228 passing yards while getting 117 yards on the ground. Midland scored on a field goal late in the first half to make it 21-3 and Northwestern added three touchdowns in the third quarter before Midland got a touchdown late in the game. Tyson Denkert had 45 yards rushing and Desmond Prusia was 11-19 passing for 117 yards. Jordelle Lacy had five catches for 54 yards and Tyson Denkert had a 33 yard catch.  

The Defenders secured a 49-7 win over Hastings in their final home game of the season. Anthony Trojahn led the Defenders with 115 yards on 14 carries and two scores and Connor Dodd had six carries for 94 yards. Nick Wellen also had eight carries for 91 yards and Eli Boldan caught three passes for 34 yards. Kade McDaniel ran for 40 yards and passed for 89 as the Defenders outgained Hastings 551-126.  Tyler Wieringa and Colton Vander Berg each had a sack and a half as Dordt had seven sacks on defense.

THE SERIES

Midland leads the series 11-3 and eight of the last nine games have been decided by one score. Last year's game was won by Midland 25-24 on a two-point conversion with no time on the clock. EJ Stewart passed for 269 yards in the win and Brandon Blum ran for 42 yards. Dalton Tremayne caught four passes for 137 yards. Anthony Trojahn ran for 94 yards for the Defenders and Eli Boldan had three catches for 98 yards in the dramatic loss.
