RECENTLY

Morningside built a 42-33 halftime lead over Dakota Wesleyan on Saturday and then held off the Tigers in the second half for an 80-64 win. Ely Doble scored 23 points with three assists and Trey Powers scored 17 points with seven rebounds. Jack Dotzler and Joey Skoff each had 11 points and Dotzler took in 11 nine rebounds.  Morningside converted over 50 percent of its field goals and had seven made three-point shots.

Dordt controlled much of the game with Indiana University-East on Saturday with a 45-37 halftime lead and a 96-85 final. Cade Bleeker scored 22 and had three made three-point shots and Jacob Vis had 27 points on 10-13 field goal shooting with seven rebounds. Bryce Coppock added 18 points and had 11 rebounds. Jackson Louscher had 14 points and eight rebounds.

THE SERIES

Morningside leads the series 35-17  and has won ten of the last 11 games in the series dating back to 2018.   Last year's 75-74 win on February 2 in Sioux Center stopped the losing streak with Cade Bleeker leading the team with 18 points and Bryce Coppock scored 16 and Luke Rankin added 12. Ely Doble led Morningside with 18 points and Aidan Vanderloo had 14 and Will Pottebaum came off the bench to score 14. The win was a reversal of an 88-75 Morningside win on November 17, 2021.

Morningside is scheduled to face Carroll (Montana) and Indiana Wesleyan in Aberdeen, South Dakota this weekend and will return to league play against Doane on Tuesday, November 22.
