Defenders Run Away From Bellevue

The Dordt Defender women's basketball team used a fast start and coasted past the Bellevue Bruins on Tuesday night, November 8 in Sioux Center, Iowa. Dordt had a double digit lead most of the first half and won by a 77-53 margin.

The Defenders used 10-12 shooting in the first quarter to take a 24-13 lead at the quarter break and then shutout the visitors for the first five minutes of the second quarter while building a 44-22 halftime lead.  Dordt's defense was equally tight in the third quarter as the Defenders again outscored the visitors 24-9 in the period for a 68-31 lead.  Up to that point the Defenders limited Bellevue to 2-17 three-point shooting.

The fourth quarter belonged to the Bruins as they outscored Dordt 22-9, but the damage had already been done with Dordt prevailing by the 24 point difference.
