RECENTLY

Dordt has not played since back to back wins over Oak Hills Christian and Governors State on November 25 and 26.  The Defenders followed a 145 point outburst against Oak Hills Christian with a 113-82 win over Governors State on Saturday as Lucas Lorenzen scored 22 and Jacob Vis and Cade Bleeker each had 19. Luke Rankin handed out eight assists and Jacob Vis had seven with 12 rebounds.

Midland lost a back and forth affair with Mount Marty on November 30 in Yankton, 67-62. Ryan Larsen scored 14 and Dominic Humm scored 12 in the loss and Mason Strong and Jake Rueschhoff  had eight each.  The Warriors were held to 22-68 field goal shooting and made 6-9 free throws while getting outrebounded 38-24.

THE SERIES

Dordt leads the series with Midland 9-1 since 2017 and Dordt has won eight in a row in the series since a January 27, 2018, 99-95 loss.  Last season Dordt needed overtime to slide by Midland in Fremont on December 4 by an 88-83 count.  Jacob Vis had 30 points and 11 rebounds while Bryce Coppock scored 27 in the win while Cade Bleeker added 16. Emanuel Bryson scored 25 off the bench with 11-17 shooting and Laurence Merritt had 23 and Bo Sandquist 16.

On January 22 the Defenders were 77-63 winners in Sioux Center after leading 38-31 at halftime. Bryce Coppock and Jackson Louscher each had 14 in the win and Cade Bleeker, Luke Rankin and Camden Bialas all had 13 points and Bialas added 10 rebounds.

Dordt will host Northwestern and Dakota Wesleyan on December 7 and 10 and travels to Mount Marty on December 15 to conclude first semester play.
