(Thursday, December 22; Sioux Center, Iowa) Jack Fancher, a senior at Pella Christian High School (Iowa), has announced his intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender football program.
Fancher played wide receiver, cornerback and kicker and earned first team all-state honors from the Des Moines Register and IFCA and he was an academic all-state selection. He's converted 134-150 point after tries over the course of his career and is 7-9 on field goals with a long of 47 yards. Fancher is 6-2, 180 pounds.
"I love their program, their coaches and culture and I think I will flourish there. They have strong academics and I think it will be a great place for me in the future," said Fancher.
Jack is the son of Jake and Sandra Fancher of Pella, Iowa. He plans to study business administration.
Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA).
U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
