Divis Signs On With Defenders

(Thursday, December 22; Sioux Center, Iowa) Garrett Divis, a senior at Hinton High School (Iowa), has announced his decision to attend Dordt and join the Defender football program.  

Divis played offensive tackle and is 6-4, 250 pounds. He earned second team all-state honors in 2022 and earned first team all-district honors in 2020, 2021 and 2022.  

"I chose to attend Dordt because I felt welcomed and I also believe I will thrive at Dordt," said Divis. 

Garrett is the son of Matt and Marie Divis.  He plans to study engineering

Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA).

U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
