(Thursday, December 22; Sioux Center, Iowa) John Fenter, a senior at Lubbock Coooper High School (Texas), has announced his intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender football program.
Fenter played center and guard while earning all-district honors and is listed 6-1, 265 pounds. He was also a three-year varsity letterwinner and helped Lubbock Cooper to the state semifinals in 2021.
"I chose Dordt because of the tight knit community, its' academic prowess and the culture of the football program," said Fenter.
John is the son of John and Tracy Fenter of Lubbock, Texas. He plans to study business administration.
Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA).
U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
