(Thursday, December 22; Sioux Center, Iowa) Carter Quiring, a senior at Westlake High School (Utah), has announced his intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender football program.
Quiring is a 6-1, 175 pound wide receiver and kick returner from Westlake High School (Utah). He caught passes for 601 yards and five touchdowns during his senior season.
"I chose Dordt because of the amazing coaching staff, the positive campus environment and the strong culutre of the football program," said Quiring.
Quiring is the son of Jason and Nicole Quiring of Saratoga Springs, Utah. He is undecided on his intended field of study.
Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA).
U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
