Zachariah Quiring Signs On With Defenders

(Thursday, December 22; Sioux Center, Iowa) Zachariah Quiring, a senior at Heartland Community School (Nebraska), has announced his intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender football program. 

Quiring is 6-3, 200 pounds and played linebacker and running back. He ran for 711 yards and caught passes for 172 yards and totaled 20 touchdowns.  On defense Quiring averaged 12.1 tackles per game.  

"Dordt is a place where I know I will thrive and grow as a football player, a man, and as a follower of Christ. Both the coaches and the team culture are amazing along with the facilities. I am very excited to continue playing football and studying agribusiness at Dordt," said Quiring.  

Zachariah is the son of Craig and Christine Quiring of Bradshaw, Nebraska. He plans to study agribusiness

Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA).  

U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
