(Thursday, December 22; Sioux Center, Iowa) Lorenzo Nelson, a senior at Brandon Valley High School (South Dakota), has announced his intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender football program.
Nelson is a 6-1, 165 pound safety.
"I chose Dordt because of the culture they have. I think that Dordt does things differently compared to any other college I have seen. I really saw something special in not only the football program but in the school itself. I saw how important it was for it to be so much more than football and more about developing people who are strong in faith and want to be difference makers after they leave Dordt. I saw they wanted to create men of God instead of just football players," said Nelson.
Lorenzo is the son of Linda and Stacy Nelson of Brandon, South Dakota. He plans to study engineering at Dordt.
