RECENTLY

Mount Marty lost to Jamestown 87-67 on December 10 and trailed 46-30 at halftime in the Lancers last GPAC action. Lunday scored 23  while Cole Bowen and Josh Arlt had 15 and 13 each. Jamestown converted 57 percent of its field goal attempts.

On December 19 and 20 the Lancers lost to Webber International 92-80 and beat Fort Lauderdale 85-82. In both games Lunday scored efficient 20+ points.  Against Fort Lauderdale the freshman was 9-13 from the field and 4-5 from the arc and took away five rebounds to go with his 25 points.

Dordt won a 77-74 decision from Dakota Wesleyan on December 10 with Jacob Vis scoring 24 and Lucas Lorenzen added 19 as the two went a combined 18-22 from the field and Lorenzen had eight rebounds.

THE SERIES

Dordt is 10-1 in the series since 2017.  The Defenders needed overtime on February 9 to slide past the Lancers 76-67. Bryce Coppock scored 27 and Cade Bleeker added 12 while Mount Marty was more balanced with Nick Coleman and Allen Wilson each scoring 14 and Tyrell Harper and Gio Diaz each had 12.

Mount Marty

• Mount Marty is coached by Collin Authier who is in his second season as head coach. The 2021-22 team finished the season with a 7-22 record.
• Kade Stearns and Lincoln Jordre are the top returning scorers from the 2021-22 team and averaged 6.1 and 5.7 points per game last season.
• Tash Lunday is averaging 23.4 points per game in GPAC games and is making 35 percent of his 3-point shots in league play. He has a career best 33 points in a game against Briar Cliff in November and has scored 20 or more points in 12 games.
